So Last trip to India I was on Delhi airport and I had a long in transit halt and out of boredom I was browsing around the shops until I came across forest essential shop. For the first time ever I made a random purchase without any background knowledge about the product. I converted the amount Rs 1695/- to dollar and it still was on a fairly expensive side of skincare. Reading further about the products I could convince myself with the price point and the good quality ingredients it contained. It had some best known ayurvedic ingredients like Mysore Sandalwood, Nagkesar, Black Himalayan Clay, Rosewater and many other herbs known from ages for their goodness. This facemask claims to deep clean and nourish the skin.
The packaging is very expensive looking glass jar with golden screw top lid.
I love glass packaging because its recyclable, better than plastic and reusable.
Ingredients
As we all know the main heroes of the mask Sandalwood and nagkesar both are good for balancing and controlling oil, reducing hyper-pigmentation, reducing tan, for soothing and calming skin to reduce inflammation. It also contains products like Turmeric, rosewater, raw honey, yogurt, mulethi, wheat germ and anantmool which are good for brightening dull skin, deep cleansing, soothing skin and giving a natural glow to you. Whereas products like yogurt, kokum butter, sweet almond oil are great for moisturizing your skin making it soft and supple.
Application and Removal
- After cleansing, open pores on face and neck area with steaming or hot towel for five minutes.
- Then, apply masque directly.
- Allow to dry for 10-15 minutes.
- Rinse off with warm, then cold water.
- Then apply chilled Facial Toner to minimize pores.
- Finish with a moisturizing cream.
The mask is very easy to rinse and comes off easily. It does take about 20-25 minutes to dry which is fine because you can enjoy the calming fragrance for longer.
My views on the product
I love love love this facemask. I am now regretting to only getting one of it. I cannot recommend it enough. I love this mask because it deep cleanses the skin as well as nourishes it all at the same time. Its great for my oily acne-prone skin. It helps me get a very soft, smooth, less irritated skin. it gives such a beautiful glow to my skin, it shines after i have washed off the mask. This mask has very strong sandalwood scent which i loveeee. The fragrance is so wonderful and calming that I felt like I am in some spa and I almost felt asleep. This mask is one of a kind and unique mask with all organic ayurvedic ingredients.
To check the tan removal claims I tried this on my mom who has a fairly dry to normal skin and she had quite a bit of tan from a beach vacation. After 2-3 applications she did notice visible tan removal and she loved the mask and now she wants it too. I guess I would get couple of them more to keep in stock.
Pros
Its for all skin types. Not super-drying neither too heavily moisturizing. Just super nourishing and Balancing and deep cleansing.
Very Calming Sandalwood Fragrance…Works like an aromatherapy session in spa.
Great for soothing, cooling skin and reducing inflammation specially for my always red and irritated acne prone skin.
Brightens the skin and reduces tan visibly.
Also works to reduce acne with all the antimicrobial and antioxidant products like raw honey, turmeric, wheatgerm, anantmool.
Cons
None. (I was still thinking if It would be correct to say price point is a bit high but with all the organic and fairly expensive Sandalwood, It would be not possible to make it for cheaper. Also the brand itself says its luxurious Ayurveda.)
Final View
I would definitely recommend the Forest Essentials -Mysore Sandalwood and Nagkesar Facial Treatment Mask. Its a very good face mask, If you want to deep clean, nourish and soothe the skin. You can gift it to yourself for your Weekend pamper so that you can feel like a spa session at the convenience of your home.
